This trap has a significantly lower price than its nearest competitor, which is why I bought it to transport my rescued feral queen to and from the vet. Even after several years indoors, she has to be in a trap or transfer cage to go to the vet so that they can anesthetize her before anything else. She's a good kitty, but she's not big on non-consensual interaction. This trap does that job well. For actual tnr, it's plenty sturdy enough for most cats, so if you're setting traps and waiting on site, this will do the job.
However, if you are trapping in an area that has other wildlife, you might want to spring for the more expensive trap. This one will not hold up to a raccoon or even an angry opossum (they don't all play dead).
This trap is probably great for small critters like squirrels and such, but racoons will tear it to shreds. The first time I used it (and did trap a medium sized racoon) the foot plate was completely torn off and bent like paper and spring bar bent in half like a piece of spaghetti. It did manage to hold the racoon, but I had to spend an hour bending the pieces back into shape to try to use it again.
